The First Amendment and Jaw Boning
Genevieve Lakea is a Professor of Law and Herbert and Marjorie Freed Teaching Scholar at the University of Chicago. She has written about the First Amendment law of jaw boning. The term refers to efforts by government officials to pressure private speech platforms or private speech intermediaries like social media companies into suppressing what is otherwise thought to be protected expression.
