The Most Important Mary Queen of Scots Discovery in the Last Century

Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania has been working on construction at an area known as Little Round Top. A metal detector sweep ahead of that work revealed an unexploded artillery shell from the US Civil War. It's not all that unusual to find weaponry or ammunition at the park, but usually those are much smaller less dangerous items like percussion caps. Most of the letters were written to Michelle de Castell now de Mervisier, French ambassador to England between 1578 and 1584.
