The Integrative Nature of Consciousness

Short words, reasonably short sentences lead to a readability score that is quite high. We actually talk about language and grammar in science quite a lot on inside science. Last year we spoke to the linguist Stephen Pinker who talked about how scientific language is notoriously jargon heavy. The IPCC's summaries are not for scientists - they're for policymakers. So they are very far away from being understood by non-specialists.
