The Capacity for Morally Responsible Agency
The capacity for morally responsible agency is one that we develop e. You know, it's not some magical thing that we're born with. We have to gradually acquire the capacity for moralrspons ity. But i think there are more people than dam seems to think thut are not, if we might put it that way, wired right,. Not because they've got a brain shumer or anything like that. There can be cases of serious emotional deprivation, lack of love, parents who aren't interested in teaching you right from wrong. Those sorts of beginnings are really, really hard to overcome. And so this is how the law evolves, and this is how folk morality evolves as well
