The Unexpected Marriage of Edward IV
As an eligible bachelor, Edward was expected to cement his rule over England and his foreign policy by choosing one of Europe's eligible royal women. But as it turned out, Edward was already married and not to a foreign princess. He had stumbled on a 26-year-old widow of a land castry and lord named Elizabeth Woodville. No King of England had married one of his subjects in centuries.
