"I've always been a fat kid. I grew up in a family where that was absolutely unacceptable," she says. "One thing that stands out was being told that I should stop eating apricots, but I was 11 years old and I was taught to avoid apricots ... It did not fix my body." A part of me still thinks that I could conquer it and the shame would go away, he adds.
