The Nightmarish Woodstock
Icon Park closed in 1996 due to so many lawsuits and the bad reputation it was receiving. On July 8th, 1980, there was a death on the Alpon slide. George Larson was believed that his brakes didn't work on his sled. He flew off of the track and his head landed on some of the nearby rocks causing major injuries and leading him to be in a coma. It's pretty much just another noteworthy amusement park tragedy. And as we said earlier, I believe that one of the former employees bought it andI don't know if he has or not, but was planning on creating a safer park there.
