A paraplegic gentleman was admitted with euro sepsis from clebsiella and the basic metabolic panel showed that his bicarb is 16 His anangap is eight and the residents are calling this a metabolic acidosis. They started him on sodium bicarbonate, but day after day like the bicaracter is just being stubborn.
