New York state has already passed a law requiring the vast majority of its electricity to come from renewable sources by 20 30. Nine million people live in new york during winter, so it's not surprising that more than half of the city's omissions come from buildings. The city as a whole is actually responsible for five % of all the gas burnt in buildings across the us.
