I would encourage people to do that, especially with animation. You tend to kind of sit there and learn how someone else works. And along the way, you're going to be doing different styles and you might not be doing stuff that's exactly like what you're doing. So even if you did spend a year doing something that you maybe aren't completely jazzed about, you still do have the opportunity to take that experience,. then roll it back into a new portfolio which is more focused on what you actually want to do.
