By the 1940s, Uncle Thune was also known for her movies. She starred in six films which were released during a period known as the Golden Age of Egyptian cinema. A single song could go on for anywhere between 90 minutes to 5 hours. Like a jazz virtuoso, she could improvise on seemingly any piece of music.
