I think this is why stoicism and Buddhism have so many similarities. If you boil the human condition, the human experience, we boil history down enough times, you're not left with that much. So it really just comes down to like, who can say it the most clearly, and then which tradition does a good job of living up to it. That's what I think so interesting about Marx; he was meditating in his journal about making sure that that didn't happen.
