The Importance of Knowing What You're Doing

Games can be an endorphin shortcut or like a serotonin shortcut kind of like eating a jelly donut. When you program the game and you know what you're doing under the hood all the mechanics, you don't get that same rush when you beat your own game. You really have to build it for other people but there are some occasions where building your own game can give you satisfaction. It's never actually going to be satisfying for you to solve your own puzzle so  you need to focus on creating something others will enjoy.
