Is This Really Necessary for Ca's Story?

I thought there were so many similarities to nate and to what we've seen nate do in parts of nate stoyline in s early scenes. One thing that i thought was fascinating, when he starts dating marcy, she looks like mattie,. but she puts her feet in his lap and up wherever she wants in the car. That made me think a lot about, is this supposed to make us think about who nate might actually want to be with? At the same time as contemplating whether he and his father have actually been able to explore who they truly want to be together.
