The Role of Reptiles in Sleep Behavior

We do see sleep behavior in reptiles but reptiles and amphibians are much less studied than birds and mammals. EEG studies have low voltage waves so they may have non-rem sleep but there's not really any evidence for REM sleep. So that might have been a before amyote feature that REM came in after a hard-shelled eggs.
