The Challenge of Self-Reporting in High Potential
The concept of high potential is so positive if you hand somebody a questionnaire with 37 questions on it, they're all going to say four and five. Self-report is a challenge because the research says itself is the least accurate evaluator of self. So what we've developed is a questionnaire that is filled out by others. It's used in the succession planning process to support the nomination of high potential. High potentials will be the second best performers usually.
