Stevie Wonder recorded a protest song and released it as a single. Barry Goody wasn't happy with the choice of single, but Wonder pushed. It still made the top 20 on the pop chart and got to number four on the R&B chart. And as with Motown's sound alike follow ups in general, it didn't do quite as well.
