A premature baby will go through at least ten to 12 unpleasant or painful experiences every 24 hours for the first four weeks of life. The problem here is that babies are experiencing just a large volume of pain repeated over time. Those last weeks a baby would be in the womb are just hugely important for brain growth.
Doctors can save the lives of premature infants, but the process is often painful. Luckily, a solution might be as simple as a parent’s loving touch.
