Protest Becomes Nothing
In the book, he talks about how there's a way that even film with explicitly anti capitalist messages can sort of be used by capital as a way to dissipate anti capitalist energy. It's like, oh, we want to feel good about our anti capitalist ideas, so let's buy a movie ticket, right? Let's le's put ourselves more firmly into this capitalist system. Yet, when one of one of recent sort of controversies that high lights this was the pepsy commercial where they staged ait, it was a protest that was protesting nothing. But just like people in their nice outfits holding a well made sciencet, that's what protest is.
