The Challenges of Imaging Live Cells

The primary imaging technique we use is Wide Field Fluorescence Bicroscopy. And that's because calcium signaling can be subcellular, but for the most part, these are signals that engage the entire cytoplasm of the cell. So what we need to do is collect all of the light from those fluorescent calcium sensors in order to get the best resolution of these calcium signals. Now, one of the other challenges that you're working with is your performing experiments on live cells.
