The Problem With Recycling in Australia
The same problem that caused RedCycle to fall over is now being confronted by the supermarkets. Australia consumes 3.5 million tons of plastics every year, 84% of which goes into landfills. Supermarkets are considering sending this waste overseas for reprocessing - consistent with Australia's historical approach to dealing with waste.
