In 1908, when he was 18, Victor Lustig spent two months in a Prague prison for stealing. In November of that year, he was arrested in Vienna for larceny and being a hobo. Eventually, he made the call to move to Paris where he scammed people in bridge and poker. He got in trouble over his constant flirtation with the girlfriends of his marks.
