What's Happening Inside Your Brain When You Experience Sensory Input From the Outside World?

There's less of a difference between what happens inside our brain when we experience sensory input from the outside world. And when we imagine that input, then we might think similar things are happening in the brain. When I say your brain is making a concept or it's creating a prediction, it's changing the firing of its own neurons to prepare you to act completely outside of your awareness. It's preparing these in exactly the same way as it conjured an apple with sights and sounds and tastes and so on.
