I don't think the media had a important role in preventing Trump from being worse. We have to give him up to give it up a little bit to the press, but it was much different than I supposed or hoped. The idea that the media is so powerful and so important and so righteous that it can take down the president didn't really happen. And he's also is like, well, what if I just pretend it's not real? That's kind of like the cheat code.
