The Power of the Nerd

Jack Parsons was born in 1914 and grew up in Pasadena, California. Like his mentor Alistair Crowley, he lived a life of servants and palaces. He loved science fiction stories about rockets that were considered pipe dreams by scientific minds at the time. The first recorded attempt at rocket flight occurred in China in the year 1500 when a man named Juan strapped 47 black powder rockets to two kites.
