Is There a Similar Problem for the Annihilationist?
The way most traditionalists explain the difference between a few hours of suffering and an eternity of suffering, leads them into a trap from which i don't think they can escape by appealing to mystery. There are viewpoints between the two bi polar ends on how the atonement plays out. If one concedes that bodily death was part of the atoning work of christ, even if it's not the whole thing, if it's part of it, i think conditional immortality and annihilationism inevitably follow.
