It looks like Ellen's revelations were often shaped by things other people were proposing, and that they were sometimes deliberately shaped to achieve personal goals. She borrowed extensively from other people's writings without giving them credit. Her allegedly inspired writings also base moral warnings on scientifically false matters such as the pseudoscience of phrenology. And it looks like she was doing this in pursuit of financial gain while allegedly writing under divine inspiration.
