Portal Pantasy

We don't think of 19 eighty's children cartoon properties as being portal phantasies, but they very much were. You'd have the dino saucers or transformers or care bears having these grand, glorious, intensely dangerous adventures with a small, kidnapped human child around to observe on it for the audience at home. Those really are, by definition, portal pantasies.
