The sluggerd waker also whips the dogs out of the church during services. The dog whipper was sometimes issued with a special set of tongs for those hard to reach dogs. If the dog had hidden in a crevice or something in the church, you'd have to use the tongs. We didn't really feel like we had to go get help from the Almighty. It was all my please go. No praying.
