Understanding Stress and Its Consequences

There's a lot of variability and not only in the definition of stress but just understanding it better. We can't say there is an absolute unifying threshold of stress what we can say is that perceived stress seems to be the critical factor here. In some people with chronic stress they have an imbalance or they have a over-activates their sympathetic arm of their autonomic nervous system. The perception of stress may not always necessarily correlate with your cortisol level.
