Reagan and the Fall of the Soviet Union

Reagan is accused of this stuff and in reality, like Republicans today, he actually enlarged the budget. It was pretty much lip service when it came to really cutting costs or whatever. Now the interesting question is, did his build up of the military help bring the end to the Soviet Union? And I believe, you know, I'm not an expert at this in any means, but from what I've read and seen, it actually did pretty much that.
