The US Was Playing a Double Game on the Suez Crisis
The Suez Crisis is a clear example of how the US was trying to exert its control over European imperialism. This does show that even in the 1950s, there were significant differences foreign policy differences between the US Empire and the British and French empires. And for the US, the establishment, even people like John Foster Dulles, they were actually in favor of civil rights to a degree if they could do it without political, big political consequences.
