The Unexpected Ukrainian Resistance

In the first days of the war, Western powers offered Zelensky Ukrainian president a special plane to take him out of Kiev. This hysterical precipitous offer made palpable the true desire of the West and was spoiled by the unexpected Ukrainian resistance. I have many friends there that we in the West, all my political friends in Slovenia and France, could feel the secret pleasure when Russian commandos dropped onto Kiev. The true bet surprised what Ukrainians really, they tell you this privately, not publicly, Ukrainians screwed up everything by their resistance.
