The Importance of Guessing

The idea is if they need the picture at all, they're not reading the words. If you can't decode the words that are there and again I'm talking about kindergarten right. They shouldn't have to use that whole eagle eyes kind of cute. That is guessing. Kids who are using those strategies of poor readers, different things are going on in their brain. And our job is to teach them to read.
