The Case of Massami Yoshinaga
The case of Massami Yoshinaga, a 12-year-old schoolgirl who was kidnapped and raped in 1995. Two US military men were arrested for the crime but later recanted their confession. They claim that they were being discriminated against because they were black and they said that their confessions were coerced. The case became an extremely political thing with US-Japan relations becoming very tense.
