Sleep dealer is a science fiction film, kind of siber punk, set mostly on the us. Mexico border. The idea came to me in 19 97 when i was reading wired magazine and reading about tele commuting. So we slowly kind of reveal a new world in which workers around the planet transmit their labor into the us. Remotely, to be manifested by machines here, so that the united states economy gets all the labor without the workers.
