The Staves of New York
Forster wanted to write a novel about a male couple that had a happy ending and where the two went off to live happily forever after. He could not have published such a book during his lifetime because it would have been considered obscene. The Staves of New York was based on novels by Evan Canell, Mrs. Bridge and Mr. Bridge. TriStar wanted to make a film with us and we said, well, this is what we'd like to make: Tamajama, which is stories.
