The Power of Prosody in Accent Learning
The final piece that I find is something that doesn't get as much attention as the other pieces is the rhythm and the stress and the prosody. So prosody is just a word that means kind of melody and stress and rate, volume, pitch, all of those things. Something that I find really, really useful to the individual speaker is breaking down this idea of how we communicate what's important. Undoing the kind of shortcuts that your brain has built around language is a big part of accent learning.
