The Dodgers and the Padres in the N.L. West Division

This is their year when it looks like the Dodgers are relatively vulnerable, but of course even if you win the division It's definitely a guarantee that you're going to get your first championship. If this guarantees that they can keep most of this core together for the next several years and get several cracks at it before things go south then yeah, maybe that's worthwhile. Like I guess the only better alternative possibly is to be the Dodgers basically where you're constantly contending for more than a decade and there's no end in sight.
