The Value of Risky Play

I want to talk a little bit more about children's natural ways of learning and the value of play. My 13 year old son is a big skateboarder. He left today to go meet a bunch of friends and skateboard downtown, took the subway here in Boston and we'll spend the day skateboarding with his friends. And it makes me think a little bit about what you've talked about in the past about the value of risky play for kids. That continually is becoming eroded in our culture that there's sort of less spaces for unstructured, unsupervised in some cases sort of risky play like skateboarding.
