Speaker Polosi Is Trying to Get Her Caucus Unified Around the Notion of More Time to Negotiate

The surface transportation funding in this country ran out yesterday, and it looks like around one o'clock in the afternoon, the time i'm recording this podcast on friday, that the democratic leadership is looking to pass a patch. They are wrapped up in that hard interstructure bill. But since that hasn't passed, of course, democratic leaders and democratic members of congress don't want to see any negative impact on jobs or on these transportation projects across the country. So there needs to be some kind of funding patch. And that is basically asking for more time to negotiate.
