Indanesia Signed Up to This Deal, but It's Business as Usual
Indanesia, home to the world's third largest tropical forest, has signed up to a new deal. But two days later its minister of environment and forestry said that it is unfair for inonesia to be expected to not cut a single tree in the forest in the next decade. And there's some suggestion that the governments plann to keep cutting down forests to allow space for food to grow as well. The big problem with all this is that we've been here before. In 20 14, forty governments signed up to halve deforestation by 20 20 but that didn't happen. This time we've got a lot more countries signing up. We've just got to see what happens.
