Studying Josephus Illuminates the New Testament

Growing up in south africa shaped me quite ondly as a person, and my scholarship grows out of that. I think i am very aware of the power of biblical texts to shape narratives of nations. The bible can be used as a very powerful tool for bad as well as for good. It illuminates the new testament by helping us to understand that the new testament written in a real world where a init's not just a world unto itself.
