Matthew Joseph O'Connell: I wholeheartedly support the engagement with new theories and political practices. This includes things I also very much enjoy critiquing, which can include identity politics, intersectionality, gender theory,. race theory, white theory. And Amina, I find it all very, very interesting. But part of my concern is that there is a lack of critical engagement from those who practice these theories. There are often arguments about authenticity cover up underlying issues which should be brought to the fore.
