The Importance of Depth in the Church
I think the chickens were coming home to roost with a certain kind of church culture and celebrity culture that had become, was increasingly becoming common. I don't think it's just a coincidence that there seem to be a spate of more stories than usual. The one thing that does give me hope in a way is that in an increasingly technological culture where we are so often more lonely than we've ever been before because of screens and the fact that real communities isn't happening anymore, the church can be a counter example of that. It still is a place where we're supposed to turn up on a regular basis and be together in person.
