Luxury real estate is its own special form of hacking. A lot of Russian oligarchs and other shady criminals are buying New York, London, ParisReal estate because it's a way they can park their money. Once you park your money in real estate, you can get a loan off of it, which is suddenly clean money. So this really is a regulatory loophole. I blame the real estate lobbyists for making sure that those investments are exempt from anti-money laundering laws.
