The Importance of Introspection

Buddhists have put in an unusual amount of work developing tools of introspection that other people kind of didn't, and so that's why they got there. So these are maybe unlike other empirical truths about the world, like about fundamental physics, say, or truths that you would need a lot of data to unearth. Nobody can see what I'm seeing when I meditateOther than me. On the other hand, phenomenology, the description of subjective experience from within is a part of Western philosophy that is considered legitimate but not scientific.
