The Differences Between the Japanese Economy and the S&P 500
The level of profit growth or earnings per share growth for the Japan market is exactly the same on a local currency basis as the S&P 500. So there is no link at all between what's going on in the economy and what's happening to companies. And I think it is one of the biggest misunderstandings about the Japanese market overall. But, you know, within that, we can find very strongly positioned companies that actually you can't buy that type of exposure anywhere else in the world.
