The Importance of Domain Expertise in Coaching

Dean, do you have to be an expert in these areas? These domain areas are going into what should coaches know about that? Dean: I think it's just like being a learning person or an HR person or an OD person inside of an organization. On the one hand, you've got functional expertise. And on the other hand, the best HR and OD people know something about the industry in that business. So they can connect the two. They can connect their functional expertise to what they know about that industry.
