The Three Types of Human Prion Diseases
Brian Applebee is the director of the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center. He says CJD can develop sporadically, genetically or be acquired. The only way to really tell them apart is by looking at brain tissue under a microscope. We're also working on developing tests to more specifically diagnose people with pre-ion disease.
